CREATING YOUR  STUNNING HERBACEOUS BORDER INCLUDING

SOME EXPERT TIPS FOR OVERFLOWING SUMMER CONTAINERS

Saturday 6th April 2024
10.30am to 3.30pm
€ 120

Creating a perennial  herbaceous garden is a wonderful investment that you will enjoy year after year, so it is definitely worth taking the time to create a herbaceous border that reflect the blooms that you like.

There are many elements to consider planting scheme, colours, site selection, soil condition, planning your layout that will optimise your space and allow you to enjoy colourful blooms throughout the seasons.

While starting a flower bed requires some planning and forethought, it’s not as difficult as one might think to build a flower bed from scratch.

If you would like to add a Herbaceous Border or improve the one you have then who better to learn from than one of Irelands leading Plantsman and Gardener Paul Smyth.

Paul is a horticulturist and though he has had a varied career travelling the world on hunting expeditions to Vietnam collecting seeds of  exotic plants you may know him now from the work he has done since coming back to Ireland in 2020. He is an author and co wrote a book Gardening Together with Diarmuid Gavin whom he also broadcast nightly sessions  on Instagram titled Garden Conversations. Paul is now Head Gardner at  RHSI Bellefield Co Offaly

The workshop will take place in our renovated stable.

This will be a most enjoyable and inspiring day where you will pick up many tips to help you create the wow factor in your own garden. Paul will be explaining valuable propagating techniques and all participants will be able to take home the cuttings you've worked on during the day.
