Cold Pressed Soap Making Workshop

Anna Browne

Saturday 1st Nov 2025
10.30am to 3.30pm

Do you love rich, creamy soaps and the indulgence of pampering yourself? Join us at Coolamber House for a hands-on workshop in the art of cold-pressed soap making! In our beautifully renovated stables, you'll learn to create artisan-quality soaps using natural, high-quality ingredients—many of which can be found in your local supermarket, health food store, or even a hardware shop.

Under the guidance of Anna Browne,  with her passion for natural skincare, you’ll explore the techniques and secrets behind luxurious, cold-pressed soaps. Anna’s expertise and enthusiasm make this workshop an unforgettable experience, whether you're a beginner or simply looking to add a personal touch to your gifts. And with your own handmade creations, you’ll leave with beautiful, unique soaps that make perfect presents—or a treat just for you!

What to expect....

10:30 AM - Welcome Tea & Coffee and Introductions

Begin the day with a warm welcome! Participants can enjoy homemade scones, coffee, and tea by the log fire in the cosy setting of the renovated stables.

Morning Session - Cold Process Soap Making

Start the day by learning the art of cold-process soap making from scratch. All materials will be provided, including a wonderful selection of essential oils to fragrance your soaps and Irish-grown botanicals to add a unique, natural touch. While your freshly made soaps will need time to cure, we’ll also provide cured soap blocks for you to cut, wrap, and take home as inspiration for gift ideas.

1:00 PM - Lunch Break

Indulge in a delicious, home-cooked lunch served in the dining room of Coolamber House. This beautifully restored period room, with its long table and elegant details, offers the perfect setting for a leisurely meal and good conversation. Enjoy home cooked  dishes made with fresh, local ingredients, and raise a glass of cava to celebrate the day.

After lunch, enjoy a guided walk through the  Walled Garden and the historic outbuildings of Coolamber. Together, we’ll explore the tranquil Reflection Garden, show you the charming Gardener's Cottage, the Orangery and Potting Shed, each with its own story and character before heading back to the stables for more practicals

Afternoon Session - Natural Body Balm and Therapeutic Salves

In the afternoon, dive into the world of natural skincare as we guide you through the process of creating a nourishing body balm. You’ll also learn how to harness the therapeutic properties of garden botanicals to make soothing salves, perfect for pampering yourself or sharing as thoughtful handmade gifts.

Gift & Farm Shop

Participants will have the opportunity to browse our gift and farm shop, which offers a variety of hand-selected locally produced products perfect for gardening enthusiasts.
