NO DIG GARDEN AND HOME COMPOST WORKSHOP

This Workshop is suitable for any gardener who is interested in knowing more about this much talked about NO DIG system of gardening. It is also suitable for beginner gardeners.
John Jones Gardener and host of Master Your Garden podcast will be here in Coolamber to guide and inform about the No dig system of Gardening.
This Workshop will cover an:
Introduction to no dig
The benefits of no dig and how simple and time saving this system can be
Soil health and fertility
Layout of no dig beds
No dig for vegetable and flower garden
The classroom based theory will take place in the renovated stables of Coolamber House with a log burning stove and plenty of tea/coffee and scones.The practical element will take place in the adjoining one acre walled garden.
John will demonstrate how to create a No Dig bed in our Walled Garden and show you how to plant winter veg.
In a No dig system Compost and Organic matter are key components.
You will learn

How to use it in a no dig system
How to establish and
Create your own compost heap
A your need is yourself. Everything will be provided. A tasty two course lunch will be served in the dining room of Coolamber House.
Your options include:
-Roast Beef with Veg and Potatoes,
-Chicken Stir Fry with Rice and Garlic Bread or our
-Cashel Blue Cheese, Chard and Walnut Welllington with side salad.
Dessert will be a selection of home cooked cakes and treats.
The restoration of the walled garden at Coolamber House started in 2019 which included layout of paths and various sections within, this development work will be ongoing throughout 2021. A walk and talk tour of the walled garden will also be included.
You will leave with the confidence and knowledge to try and start your own no dig garden system. You will have met like minded gardeners where lots of great tips and advise will be shared and given yourself some time away from it all to think and learn something new.
