WINE APPRECIATION EVENING WITH TUTORED TASTINGS

This Workshop is designed for anyone who enjoys a  glass of wine and would like to have a greater appreciation and delve deeper into  the world of wines.

​

 During this workshop you will learn to taste wines like a professional  from one of Irelands leading wine expert and identify your own personal preference.

We are delighted to have Mary Gaynor who was the first European Women 

to be awarded an M.B.A in Wine from Bordeaux Business School.

Mary was also a Senior Lecturer with the Wine Development Board for many years

before opening her own Wine Academy in Thomastown, Co Kilkenny, lectured overseas and have worked closely with Eastern European countries on vine planting programmes.

As with all our workshops we will ensure that the evening will be both enjoyable and educational.

Upon arrival everyone will receive a welcomed drink.

​

The tutored wine tasting will then take place in the renovated stables.

​

Cheese and nibbles will also be provided.

​

The basics of Understanding the Labels, Storage and Service, How wine is made

Factors affecting wine style, quality and price will all be covered.

There will be a total of six wines tasted.

Mary will also discuss the areas where the wines you are tasting come from and as you taste the wines she will suggest foods that will match the wines .

​

The appearance, nose and palate of each wine will be covered. Assessing the different flavours from each grape variety and their quality.

We expect the workshop will be very interactive with plenty of time to have all your questions answered.
